XLIV. Panda's playground

We've been trapped...

and we're getting more. I think I'm the only one who's excited about it... is there anyone left who hasn't made a snowman? I want to cover our yard with friends.

Two days ago, my mom and I watch 16 hours of the Korean drama "My Girl", only breaking to eat, relieve ourselves, and sleep. We're picking out another one for this next batch of snow... Sounds exciting, huh? It is when you get to eat 삼계탕 at the same time. Yummm. This past weekend has been my tribute to Korea, since I'm starting to miss it quite badly. Korea is calling for me...

Korea... the way you do the things you do...

XLIII. 5 things to do when it snows:

5] House chores. Laundry fresh out of the dryer will warm their way into your hearts.
4] Make a snowperson, or horrifically murder the one you made last week.
3] Cook a delicious dindin and then watch Julie&Julia while eating it.
2] Brew something warm, put on some folky or Icelandic tunes, and gaze out the window.
1] Find your old favorite cartoon series online and watch it for hours (Bleach is still my homework). Fun youtube videos will do:

4:30pm

11:30pm

And for the record, I shoveled snow today with a neighbor I had never spoken with before. What a nice man. 'Twas lovely.
It's still snowing and I'm running out of ideas...

XLII. MJ was here.

Two friends, Sarah and Hannah, are about to embark on a journey to Africa to meet up with another friend, Kate. As a celebration and a reunion, some ladies got together to enjoy a fun restaurant, or experience, called Marrakesh.

An interesting 7 course meal and... a belly dancer! The wine is also very entertaining.

The Menu:
1] A three-part cold salad with portions of cucumbers, tomatoes, and cooked carrots. I hate cooked carrots, but everything on that plate was delicious. Served with thick bread.
2] An interesting dish that was like a combination of baklava and chicken pot pie...
3] Fall-of-the-bone chicken
4] Slow-roasted lamb
5] Couscous
6] Fruit and nuts
7] Sweetened chilled mint tea with baklava.

If you find yourself in DC, check it out for yourselves... www.marrakesh.us

ps. Michael Jackson did in fact dine here.
